As I'm sure most of you know, I'm going to school to get a teaching credential and Master's. Well, so far I've taken about 7-8 classes and the whole time I was telling people "this is so easy! I can't believe these classes! Anyone could do it!"... I am now eating my words. Apparently I forgot to knock on wood while proclaiming how easy it was.
I was just hit with the mother load of work, Teacher Performance Assessments. For those of you unfamiliar with this you are probably wondering what it is. Much like John earlier asking "What is that? Why do you have to do that? And who is assessing you?" It is basically some random person making sure I know what I'm doing in the classroom. I have to know the standards, detailed lessons, detailed objectives, and how to assess the students properly. Fun stuff huh? No way. When I realized what all needed to be done, I thought "my mom's a teacher, perfect!"... However, she is not home during the week. Next best thing? Amanda Miller-Holman! Talk about a life saver. She has already done this, so she was able to help me with everything I needed. I went from being overwhelmed and frustrated to knowing exactly what needed to be done.
My words went from tasting like peas (I hate peas) to tasting like cheesecake (I love me some cheesecake) in a matter of hours!
Thanks again Bestie!!!
One more week of this class and I'm on to something new! And hopefully easier....
Peas-eeww. Cheesecake- yum. Maybe Rick was right...perhaps we should marry each other! :) I'm glad I could help you bestie! I love you and know you'll do great! AND you managed to get it turned in on time and write this blog before midnight; you rock!
