2009 at a glance... Made the decision to go back to school. I'm getting a Master's in Education and teaching credential at the same time. Look out elementary students! I love kids and working in a school setting, there couldn't be a better job for me. I'm hoping to teach for a few years, then move my way up to a counseling or director position. The sky is the limit for me.
I went to Alaska in February for the first time ever! Although it was ridiculously cold, it was a great experience. I was able to stay at Ft. Richardson for a couple nights and experience a "dorm" type setting in the barracks. Let's just say that I'm glad it wasn't anything permanent. The scream-o music and hammered roomie next door isn't something I could live with on a daily basis. On a better note, the snow covered mountains were beautiful. Something truly breathtaking at times. I look forward to going back soon. With that trip, came saying goodbye to my love. He left for Afghanistan in March so I knew that was the last time I was going to see him for a while. Nothing can prepare you for something like that. Luckily, I've got the best family, friends, and boyfriend to give me the constant support I need.
I had the opportunity to accompany my brother to England and Ireland. His very first time there! Our family and new friends took such great care of us. We were very blessed! Seeing my brother learn new things about the country was an entertaining experience in itself. Hopefully next time we will be able to visit more countries.
I've won some and I've lost some. New friends have come into my life, and some have decided to leave. I guess it's all part of life. I can say that, over time, I've realized the what I think the true meaning of friendship is. I may not be able to out number you with the amount of close friends I have, but the select few that I do mean the world to me. That is pretty special and very important in my book.
2010...
I'm taking you by storm! This is going to be my year of change. I plan on embracing every minute of it with, hopefully, a huge smile on my face even if, at times, I do want to cry or get angry. This is my year to take on a new adventure. An adventure filled with love, a new beginning, a lot of firsts, and adapting to a new environment. Yes, I am moving! In the next 5 months I will be rubbing elbows with the eskimos! John and I are very excited to finally start this process. We will use this blog to update everyone on the move and new adventures we encounter.
Happy New Year everyone!!
YAY! :) MOVING.
